The product this atlas lists

RDR, reduced data record with map projection (PDS3, JPEG 2000). Each observation comes as RED (grayscale, full width) and COLOR (a narrower color strip). Files are large, often hundreds of megabytes.

ODE product type: MRO / HIRISE / RDRV11.

Open one in JMARS

  1. Open JMARS. It is free from ASU at jmars.mars.asu.edu.
  2. In the Layer Manager, click Add New Layer, then Imagery, then Image Sets, then HiRISE.
  3. Expand Basic Parameters with the down arrow on its right.
  4. Type the image ID in the Image ID(s) field. Use the full ID ending in RED or COLOR, for example ESP_011630_1985_RED.
  5. Click OK. The search can take a few minutes.
  6. Right-click the image outline in the viewing window, then choose to render the image.
